This week, I had the pleasure of speaking to a group of small business owners at a Lunch n’ Learn hosted by the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce. I asked the question, “Are you a sitting duck?”. Are you an easy target for cybercriminals? Small businesses are under attack every day. Right now, extremely dangerous and well-funded cybercrime rings in China, Russia, North Korea, the Ukraine, and many other countries are using sophisticated software systems to hack into thousands of small businesses like yours to steal credit cards, client information, and swindle money directly out of your bank account. Some are even being funded by their own government to attack American businesses.

Many small business owners believe they are not in danger because they are “too small”. But the fact is that small businesses are low hanging fruit and easy pickings for cybercriminals, due to their lack of adequate security in place, so half of the cyber-attacks occurring are aimed at small businesses. Over 20% of small businesses were victims of a cybercrime in the last year.

When it comes to protecting your company, you need to know for certain – without any lingering doubts – that you are doing everything you can to avoid being an easy target for cybercriminals. In my webinar I cover who the attackers are, why they are attacking you, how they are attacking you, and most importantly, how to protect your business from them. If you want the answers to all of those questions, then please take the time to watch this webinar and then implement the practices and technology that will protect your business.
